Phase 1: Discovery + Conceptual Design

We begin by getting to know you—your goals, your site, your style, and how you want to live or work in the space. This phase includes site visits, precedent imagery, early sketches, and feasibility review. Together, we shape a clear vision and define the scope, setting the foundation for a design that reflects your needs, budget, and priorities.

Phase 2: Design + Documentation

With the concept in place, we move into design development—refining layouts, selecting materials and finishes, and resolving key details. We also begin producing construction drawings and technical documentation needed for pricing, coordination with consultants, and contractor conversations. The goal is to bring clarity to the design and prepare for smooth permitting and execution.

Phase 3: Permitting + Construction Oversight

Once the design is complete, we guide you through the permitting process, managing submissions to local jurisdictions and working directly with planning boards, zoning boards, and historic commissions as needed. With deep experience in local review processes, we help clear the path to approvals. During construction, we remain available for site visits, contractor questions, and design clarifications to help keep everything aligned with your vision.

We typically begin with a commitment to Phase 1 only. This low-risk starting point allows us to explore your goals, establish a clear direction, and set realistic expectations—without requiring a full project commitment up front. It’s a thoughtful way to begin, with flexibility built in as the project evolves.
